Iwate is a stratovolcano complex of the Ou Mountain Range in the western part of Iwate Prefecture, in the Tohoku region of northern Honshu, Japan. Its height is 2,038 meters. The mountain is located on the border of the municipalities of Hachimantai, Takizawa, and Shizukuishi, west of the prefectural capital of Morioka. Most of the mountain is located within the Towada-Hachimantai National Park.
