Władysławowo is a town in Poland, located on the Helbe Spit and is part of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. On the territory of the settlement there is the northernmost point of Poland. The city attracts tourists with its unique architectural and natural attractions.
Archaeological excavations in Władysławowo have unearthed finds that date back to the Stone Age. Later, the indigenous inhabitants of these places were Kashubians - Slavic descendants. In the documents of the XIII-XIV centuries this place was recorded as Bolshaya Derevnya.
Its inhabitants were engaged in fishing and agricultural activities, as well as carpentry, had the skills of weaving nets, baskets.
In the seventeenth century in connection with the invasion of the Swedish army, it was decided to build fortifications of the Polish seashore. The port fortress was named after the king - Vladyslavovo. However, it did not save the city from capture, and in 1789 it submitted to the Prussian king and was named Grossendorf. Only in 1919 the entire Pomerania was returned to Poland.
