Yosemite Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in North America. It is located in Yosemite National Park in California. Yosemite is the 20th highest waterfall in the world. The total height of the waterfall is 2,425 feet (739 m). Yosemite is divided into three segments. This is due to the fact that two horizontal systems of rock cracks intersect with a vertical system of cracks. One horizontal system is located at the base of the upper waterfall, the other — at the bottom. Thus, the vertical unstable system forming the cracks interacts with the horizontal one forming the terraces. The height of the upper waterfall is 435 meters. It is fed by Yosemite Creek. The height of the middle and lower waterfalls is 206 and 98 m, respectively. In winter, the water consumption of the upper waterfall can significantly decrease. The period of minimum water consumption at the lower waterfall lasts from the end of July-August to October; the highest consumption occurs in spring and early summer.
The waterfall is a popular tourist attraction.
