Praia da Barra beach, close to the entrance of Porto de Aveiro, offers good conditions for various sports such as surfing, bodyboarding, kitesurfing, sailing and sport fishing. The beach is very popular with holidaymakers, and in the summer it is very crowded and busy until late at night, with bars and restaurants.
Near the beach is the famous Farol de Aveiro lighthouse, built more than a century ago.
