Cherepovets 200th anniversary park is located in Zayagorbsky district of the city, at the intersection of Ledneva and Krasnodontsev Streets. It was named after the 200th anniversary of Cherepovets, celebrated in 1977.
The emergence of a green area in Zayagorbsky district was largely the merit of Vitaly Lobachev, who in the 1970s headed the architecture department of the City Executive Committee.
ΠΆ he territory of the future park was adjacent to the sand-lime brick plant. There were plans to build a lime burning shop. Thanks to the principled position of V.I.Lobachev, a park was laid out instead of harmful production near residential houses and schools. On its territory were planted trees, made walkways and a soccer field. Later, rides were installed there, and city events began to be held.
The area of the park is 55 756 square meters. In 2020, work began on its reconstruction - the entrance and part of the benches were repaired, lights were installed, sanitary cutting of trees was carried out. In November, a LED fountain measuring 6 by 8 meters appeared. The colors of "light jets" - blue and yellow. The city administration plans to continue the reconstruction of the park.
