Webcam Puerto Morelos. Central beach

Puerto Morelos is a quiet and peaceful village away from the highway, often compared to Playa del Carmen 25 years ago. The locals still live off the sea, and visitors can escape into real Mexican reality; prices here are nothing compared to Cancun's.

Puerto Morelos is the best place for a relaxing beach vacation, and its location - halfway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen - makes for a fun nightlife experience, but only if you want to.

Locals, native and visitor, struggle to protect Puerto's status as a national marine park and keep its development to a minimum. The center of the village is the main square, where stores, including dive shops, bars and restaurants have settled. A few steps away is the natural beach and a small pier for the fishing boats that deliver their daily catch to the local restaurants. At the pier, you are likely to be offered excursions to coral reefs.

Near the shore, in shallow water, there is a coral reef that has national heritage status. Therefore, the seabed in the coastal strip is heavily overgrown with algae. However, the water here is crystal clear, and the reef is a true treasure for snorkeling just a couple of meters from the shore.
