Fistral Beach is a favorite destination for UK surfers and is home to the country's premier water sports competitions. During the warm season Fistral Beach is a popular holiday destination.
The long sandy beach with extensive shallow waters is located on the north coast of Cornwall. The coast is fenced off from the surrounding hills by a high cliff. The tides are very high and the waves and wind are not uncommon. Fistral Beach has been hosting international surfing competitions for nearly 20 years. All the major British surfing competitions are held on the beach.
Surfing lessons or equipment rentals are available on the shore, and there are cafes and stores on the beach. Not far from the beach there are several hotels of different levels.
Cornwall is a popular tourist destination and there are about 30 major historical and natural sites of interest.
