Santa Fe Do Sul is a city in Brazil located near the state borders of Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso do Sul in the Rio Paraná basin.
Colonization of the city began with the arrival of employees of CAIC, Companhia Agrícola de Imigração e Colonização (Agricultural Immigration and Colonization Company), who came to work on the extension of the old Araracquarense railway line, considered the best in the south.
The city was officially founded on June 24, 1948, during the first mass celebrated by Friar (Frei) Canuto in the square where the Church of Matriz Santa Fe do Sul stands today. Its founder was Elio de Oliveira.
Santa Fe's economy is oriented toward "agritourism" (building hotels in fazenda - agricultural facilities, guest houses, country houses) and rural tourism. On the outskirts of the access roads to the city, handmade ceramics made by the women of the region are on display for passing visitors.
