Schneeberg is the highest peak in Lower Austria (2,076 m). On clear days, its snowy peak can be seen from Vienna (65 km). Schneeberg is famous for its cog railway, which has been operating for more than 100 years. It starts at the town of Puchberg am Schneeberg and allows you to climb to an altitude of 1,800 meters.
