Estepona is a municipality located on the Mediterranean coast in the province of Malaga within the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain, 90 km southwest of Malaga and 48 km northeast of Gibraltar.
It has an area of 137 km² and is home to about 66 thousand people. Estepona is a popular year-round resort in Andalusia, with many restaurants, cafes, bars and stores, as well as excellent sandy beaches, two of which have been awarded the Blue Flag.
Estepona has a subtropical Mediterranean climate with an average annual temperature of +18.8°C. The summer months are usually very hot and sunny, with temperatures often exceeding +35 °C. The city is characterized by its own microclimate with more than 325 sunny days a year. Estepona has its own fishing port and marina with restaurants and bars that offer a wide selection of the freshest fish and seafood.
