Webcam Vologda. Gorky Street, Dobrolyubov Street

Three parts of today's Gorky Street were formed in the late 18th century and the first half of the 19th century in accordance with the Plan of Vologda, approved by the highest authority in 1781.

Leontievskaya street - from the Vologda River to Bolshaya Arkhangelskaya street (now Chernyshevsky street). The name is first recorded in the Plan of Vologda in 1824. Podlesnaya street - from Bolshaya Arkhangelskaya street to the present-day power substation at the corner of Gorkogo and Sammer.

The name is first recorded in the Plan of Vologda in 1824 as Podlesnaya Sloboda. Bolshiye Kozhevniki - in the territory of present "Vodnikov settlement", it was called so because of tanneries concentrated in its outskirts. The name was first mentioned in the Plan of Vologda in 1824.

On May 9, 1936 Leontievskaya Street and Podlesnaya Street were merged into Podlesnaya Street, in 1950s it was renamed into Gorky Street. On December 16, 1959 Bolshiye Kozhevniki Street was merged with Gorky Street.
