Webcam Tresco Island. Churchtown Farm's

Tresco Island is the second largest and most populous island in the Sealy archipelago. Tresco has two settlements: New Grimsby and Old Grimsby.
Since ancient times, Tresco, like the other islands of Silly was a haven for hermits. Henry I gave the islands to Tavistock Abbey and St. Nicholas Monastery was founded on Tresco, abolished during the Reformation. Today it remains in ruins, and in its place in the XIX century were created Tresco Gardens, where many crops are grown. Mild climate allows to grow many subtropical crops, despite the relatively mild summer.

The name Tresco (Trescaw) itself was first used in 1814. Before that, the island was referred to as St. Niklas after the monastery.
The islands of Silly are located 47 km from the south-west coast of Cornwall. The archipelago consists of 140 islands, of which only five are inhabited. St. Marys is the largest inhabited island, ferries arrive here from the mainland and there is also an airport.
