Ormos Panagias is a small port village on the east coast of Sithonia. It is popular with travelers, especially pilgrims, because it is from here that the daily cruises go to the Holy Mount Athos.
The village is named after the Church of the Virgin Mary (Panagia in Greek), which has been preserved since the Byzantine period.
The place itself is very quiet and is ideal for those who are looking for a quiet holiday, without the noise and the frantic traffic, for couples and families with children. Ormos Panagias is also a wonderful base for exploring Sithonia and its beaches.
Ormos Panagias is the harbor of the neighboring village of Agios Nikolaos and the port where tourist yachts and fishing boats moor daily.
The distance to Thessaloniki is 105 km.
