Five Corners Square is the heart of Murmansk. There are buildings of the Regional Duma, Kirov Palace of Culture, hotels "Arctic" and "Meridian", the department store "Volna". Various concerts and demonstrations are constantly held on the square.

Five Corners is a modern name, which was obtained in the 90s. Before that, the square was called Proletarian Square, Red Square, Arctic Conquerors' Square, and Soviet Constitution Square.
