Webcam Gurzuf Beach, Bear Mountain
The beach of the sanatorium "Ai-Danil" is one of the best beaches in the village of Ai-Danil (Danilovka). The beach is equipped with all necessary equipment - deck chairs, showers, umbrellas and more. In the webcam lens there is a panorama of Gurzuf valley, the sea and the majestic Bear Mountain (Ayu-Dag). The silhouette of the mountain looks like an image of a huge bear, leaning against the sea, trying to drink it.
There are several legends associated with the mountain, but the most beautiful, of course, is about love. In a shipwreck, a bundle with a little girl was thrown onto the shore where the bears lived. The bears raised the child, who turned into a beautiful girl with an amazingly beautiful voice, who delighted her rescuers with wonderful songs. But one day, while the bears were out hunting, a boat with a young man washed ashore.
The girl and the young man fell in love with each other and decided to run away. When they were already quite far from the shore, the bears returned, and the leader rushed to the sea, in an attempt to suck it out and get his beloved back. That's how he got petrified. The height of the mountain is 571 meters above sea level and it protrudes into the sea for 2-2.5 kilometers. The total area is about 4 square kilometers.
Ayu-Dag is a natural protected area. The formation of the mountain belongs to the Jurassic period. Earlier version of the mountain was considered an extinct volcano, but now it is more popular version of the bubble, which was formed when magma failed to break through to the surface. The area, according to the remnants of the settlements of the Taurians, Scythians, Greeks and Byzantines discovered by archaeologists, was densely inhabited until the XV century, but later people did not settle there. Presumably because of an earthquake that cut off the drinking water supply.
