The Aletsch Glacier is a glacier located on the southern slope of the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. Aletsch is the largest glacier in the Alps, covering an area of 86.63 km2. It is notable for the fact that, going down the slopes into the valley, it created a canyon, something like a man-made road. The total length of the Aletsch glacier is about 24 kilometers.
