Avacha Sopka (Avacha) is an active volcano in Kamchatka, in the southern part of the Eastern Ridge, north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in the interfluve of the Avacha and Nalycheva rivers. It belongs to the volcanoes of the Somme-Vesuvius type. Avachinskaya Sopka is one of the most frequently visited volcanoes in Kamchatka. This is due to the relative accessibility of the volcano, its close location to the capital of the Kamchatka Territory — Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the ease of ascent.
