Volodarskaya Street (formerly Poshehonskaya Street) is located in the central part of Yaroslavl. It lies between Kotoroslnaya embankment and October Avenue, crossing the street of Freedom. Numbering of houses is carried out from the Kotoroslaya embankment.
The street was designed according to the regular plan in 1778 and was named a Poshehonskaya Street after the town of Poshehonye, Yaroslavl province. It started from the Kotoroslnaya embankment and went to the square near Romanovskaya outpost.
In December 1924 the street was renamed by the Bolsheviks into Volodarsky Street after the pseudonym of revolutionary Moisei Goldstein, "V. Volodarsky.
