Cherepovets is the largest city of the Vologda region, a large industrial center, located on the Sheksna river (left tributary of the Volga), at the mouth of the Yagorba river. The city successfully operates huge enterprises - JSC "Severstal", JSC "Ammophos", JSC "Severstal-metiz", JSC "Cherepovets "Azot". In addition, it is the only district center in Russia, which has its own university - Cherepovets State University. In Cherepovets is the oldest museum in the region, a lot of cultural institutions, theaters, shopping centers.
Vologodskaya street is named after the city of Vologda. The name appeared on the map of the city on Dec. 16, 1926. It includes the former Railway street, which went from Krasnoarmeiskaya street (now Pobedy avenue) in the direction of the station, parallel to the street of Maxim Gorky.
There is a children's art school in the building #3 on Vologodskaya Street.
