Kardzhali is a city in Bulgaria, the administrative center of the Kardzhali region and the community of Kardzhali.
The de facto capital of the Eastern Rhodopes, a traditional Turkish fiefdom in Bulgaria. This area was the first to be conquered by them and the last to be given away as a result of the two Balkan wars in the early 20th century.
