Todtnauberg is a German village in the Black Forest, belonging to the municipality of Todtnau, in Baden-Württemberg. It is named after the mountain of the same name ("berg" in German means hill or mountain).
Schwarzwald (Schwarzwald - "black forest") is a mountain range in the state of Baden-Württemberg in the southwest of modern Germany.
The mountain range of southwestern Germany stretches from south to north along the right bank of the Rhine, from the northern bend of the Rhine stretches northward through Baden and Wurttemberg to Entzthal. The highest point is Mount Feldberg, 1,493 meters, averaging 1,000 meters in height, about 158 kilometers long from Seekingen to Durlach, with a width of 22 to 60 (in the south, from Müllheim on the Rhine to Wutach) kilometers.
Covered mostly by dense coniferous or beech forests, contains many picturesque mountain lakes. Mineral springs are often found, which has led to a number of spas, such as Baden-Baden, Badenweiler, Wildbad, Niedernau, and others. In the Black Forest comes the Danube, the second-largest river in Europe. The passes through the massif are the Hollenpass and the Kniebis.
