Webcam Darlovo. Kosciuszko Square

The famous Baltic resort Darłowo, located fifty kilometers from the Słowiński Reserve, consists of several areas. The region closest to the sea is called Darłowo (translated from Polish as "Little Darłowo"), there are concentrated health resorts, recreation centers, small pensions, cottages of local residents. Tourists can visit the old lighthouse and the bridge. Historical quarters are situated to the north of the coastal area.

The old town of Darlowo is not large, and can be walked around in a few hours. The main square, flanked by the Baroque and Renaissance mansions of local nobles and burghers, offers travelers two architectural landmarks at once: the Renaissance town hall and the parish Church of the Virgin Mary, where the remains of one of the greatest rulers of the past, Erik of Pomerania, are buried. This church was built in the Gothic style in 1321. Red brick was used as a building material. That is why the local church resembles many sacral buildings in Northern Poland.

Just south of the main town square stands an imposing castle. It was built in 1352 on the site of a water mill. Although the castle was owned by Prince Bogusław V, it was the venue of the assembly of all the rulers of Pomeranian princedoms in 1372, so it went down in history as the Palace of the Dukes of Pomerania. Nowadays it houses the Museum of Arts and Crafts, which is famous for its rich collection of furniture from past centuries.
