Webcam Ancient City of Huangyao (China) in real time

The ancient city of Huangyao is located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the lower reaches of the Li River, about 200 km from Guilin.

The city has almost a thousand years of history. Most of the town's inhabitants have the surname Huang or Yao, hence the town's name.
The city has many attractions, both natural and historical. Old streets paved with slabs, ancient but well-preserved buildings, and the traditional way of life of the people - these are the characteristic features of Huang Yao.
In ancient times, thanks to its convenient location near rivers, Huangyao was a thriving business center.

Many people were engaged in commerce and were quite wealthy, so they could afford to spend a lot of money to thoroughly equip their homes.

The city also had many elegantly built towers and pavilions in addition to residential houses.

More than twenty ancestral estates and temples were built by members of the most prosperous families. They are much larger in size than the residential buildings, and naturally attract many tourists.

Ten years ago, Huangyao was relatively little known outside the area, but today this picturesque place is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Chinese and foreign travelers alike.
Literally every corner of the city is an example of typical Chinese culture or architecture. It is a photographer's paradise.

A small river runs through the town and is crossed here and there by ancient stone bridges that have been standing here for centuries.
Nowadays, as in previous centuries, many families live in small alleys. Despite all the changes in the world, these people do not want to deviate from their traditions.
Lobster sauce is one of the most famous local dishes. The secret of its preparation has been worked out for centuries. The sauce is based on specially processed soy beans. The dish is very popular with tourists.
