On the high bank of the Amur is the city's youngest square - Glory Square, opened on the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is located in the central part of the city, on a high hill approaching the broad Amur River. It adjoins one of the main streets of the city - Lenin Street.
In the center of the square there is a 30-meter obelisk of three pylons. On them there are the names of Khabarovsk citizens - Heroes of Socialist Labor and Holders of the Order of Glory. At the top of the obelisk - a metal plate, on which you can see the flying flag, topped with a five-pointed star (a symbol of military exploits) and a hammer and sickle (a symbol of the labor exploits).
At the bottom is a laurel branch. By the 40th anniversary of the Great Victory the central structure of the memorial complex was built - the memorable wall, a semicircle encircling the platform-podium, in the center of which the Eternal Flame was lit. Over time there are pylons with inscribed names of 32662 inhabitants of the region who had not returned from the war.
