Webcam Ulyanovsk. Karl Marx Street, Marata Street
Karl Marx Street is one of the central streets of Ulyanovsk, it is located in the Leninsky district of the city. The street was named after Karl Marx, the famous German philosopher, sociologist, economist and writer, in 1940. Before that, it was called Myasnitskaya, Dvortsovaya, and Lassalle.
Here are located such valuable historical buildings as the Gostiny Dvor and Palace Rows. Modern "Trud" stadium and "Kontaktor" plant were built on the site of Bazarnaya and Yarmarka squares, between which flowed the river Simbirka, which for decades has been enclosed in a collector.
Currently, Karl Marx Street is the busiest thoroughfare in the center of Ulyanovsk. Today here stand the buildings of the Central Department Store and House of Life, the "Governor's Palace", the Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
