The Wu or Wishan Mountains, formerly known as the Bohei Hills in early western documents, is a mountain range located in Nanping Prefecture, in northern Fujian Province near the border with Jiangxi Province, China.
The highest peak in the area is Huanggang Mountain at 2,158 meters on the border of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, making it the highest point of both provinces; the lowest elevations are about 200 meters. Many oolong and black teas are produced in the Wu Mountain, including Da Hong Pao ("big red robe") and lapsang souchong, and sold as Wu tea.
The mountain range is known worldwide for its refugium status for several rare and endemic plant species, its picturesque river valleys, and the many important temples and archaeological sites in the region. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
