Genoa (Genova) is a port city in northern Italy, the capital of the province of Genoa and the historical region of Liguria. It is located on the coast of the Bay of Genoa in the Ligurian Sea (part of the Mediterranean Sea), 120 km south of Milan. From the north, the city is closely approached by the Apennine Mountains.
