Online camera Cherepovets. Revolution Square (Vologda region).

The square was named in honor of the October Socialist Revolution. Until 1919 it was called Sobornaya Square, because there were Voskresensky and Troitsky cathedrals.

It is one of the oldest squares in Cherepovets. On March 11, 1919 by the decision of Cherepovets town executive committee it was renamed into "Internationala" square. Later it was called Revolution Victims Square, because Cherepovets figures of the revolutionary movement were buried there. Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot A.N. Godovikov was buried there too.

Since 1977 it is called Revolution Square. On the square is the active Resurrection Cathedral. In the park, near the cathedral there is a stele erected in honor of the 40th anniversary of Soviet power.
