Krichim is a town in Southern Bulgaria, in the Plovdiv region, the administrative center and the only inhabited place of the municipality of Krichim.
The town is located in the southwestern part of the Plovdiv region at the foot of the northern slopes of the Rhodope Mountains, 20 km from the regional city of Plovdiv. Krichim is the only inhabited place in the municipality, and the municipality itself is the smallest by number of inhabitants in the region. According to 2015 data, the community has about 8,500 inhabitants. The residents practice Orthodox Christianity and Islam.
The Vycha River flows through the community. Not far from the town there is a reservoir "Krichim" on which a hydroelectric power plant is built. The economy in the community is underdeveloped. Mainly micro enterprises and small companies function in the town.
A natural reserve "Izgorialoto Gyune" is situated in the neighborhood of the town. Near the reserve, on both banks of the river, there are walls of two ancient fortresses preserved since Byzantine times, which were built to protect this important mountain pass.
