Ifran is a small ski resort near Marrakech. Ifran is located at an altitude of 1,650 m, and although it is only 50 km from Fez, it gives the impression that you are in the European mountains: the town consists of a series of identical villas with pink tile roofs and private gardens.
The landscape here is very similar to the Alpine, and the service is not inferior to the European one. The trails aren't very long, and equipment rentals and ski passes are surprisingly cheap. How much does it cost to rent a ski ?3 -? 5 per day. It is possible to do" trekking " in the mountains, - jeep rides and hiking.
People usually go to Ifran in the summer, escaping from the terrible heat of Fez or Meknes, to relax in peace and coolness. There are lakes near Ifran where you can fish or hunt.
In the surrounding area, we recommend visiting the village of Mischliffen, located on a volcanic mountain, with its magnificent cedars. Numerous air clubs organize hot air balloon flights, delta and paragliding, and skydiving.
