Portoroz is a city in the west of Slovenia and one of the largest resorts in the country. It is located in the south-west of the country, on the coast of the Gulf of Piran (the northern part of the Adriatic Sea) between the borders of Italy in the north, and Croatia in the south. It is located 100 km southwest of the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.
