Wasaga Beach is a town located on the beach of the same name on the south shore of Georgian Bay in Lake Guron, Ontario, Canada, 40 km northwest of Barrie and 124 km north of Toronto. Wasaga Beach is the longest freshwater beach in the world, 14.7 km long. It has fine white sand and all the necessary beach infrastructure.
This makes Wasaga Beach one of the most popular resorts in Canada, and is especially popular during the summer months. The beach has a Blue Flag Award, given to the cleanest and safest beaches in the world.
Wasaga Beach is part of a provincial park of 1,844 hectares, of which 6.8 hectares are protected. The park is home to many species of birds, including endangered species. There are more than 50 km of hiking trails and in winter they are used for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The long Wasaga Beach area offers many activities such as fishing, skiing, canoeing, boating, biking, etc.
