Mainz Cathedral is a cathedral of the bishop in the German city of Mainz. From an architectural point of view, in today's form it is a three — nave basilica with columns, in the Romanesque style with elements of Gothic and Baroque. In the Middle Ages, several kings were crowned in it. In 1184, Frederick I Barbarossa celebrated in it the knighthood of his sons, which went down in history as the largest celebration of the Middle Ages.
