Oro Webcam. The ferry between Oro and Hammer Bakke
Oro is a small island in Denmark, located in the Isefjord.
It is 14 km long with a population of 893 (as of January 1, 2017).
Administratively, the island belongs to the municipality of Holbæk.
There are four villages on Örö: Bibjerg, the largest village on the island with a population of 281 (as of January 1, 2020), Bronde, Gamlose, and Näsby.
It is a popular vacation spot with about 1,200 summer houses.
There is a ferry service between Orö and Holbeck, and a cable ferry connects from the island to Hammer-Backe (Hammer Hill) on the Hornsherred Peninsula.
The twelfth-century church and the museum dedicated to local life in the area are national monuments.
