Trikala is a city in central Greece, in the north-west of Thessaly. Located in the fertile valley of Thessaly, modern Trikala is the Homeric Trikka (or Trikki). It is the birthplace of the three Argonauts, and also one of the probable birthplaces of Asclepius. The city has preserved the ruins of an ancient temple to the god-doctor Asclepius.
