Webcam Astrakhan. Petrovsky fountain on the Central embankment
The Petrovsky musical fountain is located on the embankment of the Volga River, in the city of Astrakhan, and is a large multilevel fountain, surrounded by a balustrade in the form of smaller fountains. The total area of the fountain bowl is 875 square meters.
The fountain was built in 2009, when in Astrakhan there was a series of large-scale reconstructions dedicated to the 450th anniversary of the city. Since the fountain includes several levels, during the performances each of them rises in the air massive jets of water in turn, which looks extraordinarily spectacular, especially with musical accompaniment, which is chosen individually, depending on the specifics and dynamism of the show.
These small performances are held every hour, but the greatest number of spectators gather on the Embankment closer to the evening, when the fountain jets are illuminated in different colors, forming mesmerizing beautiful compositions.
