Privokzalnaya Square (former Vspolinskaya Square, the official name - Yaroslavl-Main Square) is a square in the central part of Yaroslavl near the railway station Yaroslavl-Main.
The square was formed in 1898 after building on Vspolya railway station. The station was called Vspolie, and the square next to it - Vspolinskaya. A streetcar line was built to the station, which connected it through Bolshaya Rozhdestvenskaya Street to Bogoyavlenskaya Square. Thus, Vspolinskaya square quickly became an important transport hub of Yaroslavl.
After the railway bridge over the Volga was built in 1913 Vspolye station became the main station of Yaroslavl.
Modern layout of the square began to form in the 1920s during the reconstruction of neighboring blocks. In 1952 a new building of the railway station was built. In 1958 the station was renamed into Yaroslavl-Glavny, and the square near it - into Yaroslavl-Glavny square. The common name of the square is Privokzalnaya Square.
