Yagorbsky bridge is the oldest bridge over the river Yagorba in Cherepovets. It connects Zarechensky district with the central part of the city. Yagorbsky bridge got its name from the river Yagorba.
The first wooden bridge was built by simple Russian bridge builders and opened in 1869.
Townspeople have called the bridge over the Jagorba since its "birth". In the archives of the local museums there are also earlier photos of the bridge across the river Yagorba, running from the Sobornaya hill to the arrow of the rivers Sheksna and Yagorba (now flooded) relating to the 40-50 years of XIX century. It was called "the bridge under Soborka"; it ceased to exist with the advent of the Rybinsk Reservoir. Both bridges were very important for Cherepovets, the city of merchants, serving as a link to other regions of the country. The Great Patriotic War sources state that the Yagorbsky bridge is an object of strategic importance and that it is subject to armed guards.
The decision to reconstruct the old bridge of Yagorbsky was taken by the Vologda Oblast Government in 2007. The reconstruction started in 2008. The peculiarity of the object was that it was constructed in stages, without blocking the traffic on the Pobedy Avenue. The reconstruction was carried out by the Mostostroy No. 6 JSC branch "Mostootryad No. 61". - "Mostootryad No. 61". Over the years of bridge construction works 20 thousand high-strength bolts were used, exactly as much as was needed to connect all the structural elements of the bridge.
