The Free Port of Riga is a major port on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, located in Riga, the capital of Latvia. It stretches for 15 kilometers on both banks of the Daugava River within the city limits, the area of the port territory is 1,962 hectares, the water area is 6,348 hectares. Navigation is carried out all year round. Most of the cargo turnover is made up of transit cargo from and to the territory of the CIS. The main objects of cargo turnover are coal, oil products, timber, fertilizers and container cargo.
