Krasnoye Selo (before 1617 - Dudorovsky Pogost, before 1765 - Krasnoye) is a city in Russia, an inner-city municipality within the Krasnoselsky District of the city of federal significance of St. Petersburg.
Until 1811 it was officially called "palace village Krasnoye" and was an Udel estate.
Located in the southern part of the district on the hills of Izhora hills, at the foot of which is a ravine with Bezimenny lake and the Dudergofka River. The municipality includes an enclave - the village of Khvoyny, surrounded on all sides by the territory of Gatchina district of Leningrad region.
Through Krasnoye Selo Railway St. Petersburg - Gatchina-Baltiyskaya, there is a station Krasnoye Selo.
Kingisepp Highway runs from the intersection of Gatchina highway and Lenin Avenue, which forms the Military Glory Square. Numbering of houses goes up to the adjunction of Oktyabrskaya Street; part of the highway A180 "Narva".
