The Cathedral of Saint Stephen or the Cathedral of Metz (Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Metz) is a Gothic cathedral in the city of Metz, Moselle department, Lorraine region. It was formed in the 14th century by the union of two churches: the nave of St. Stephen, built in the 13th century, was attached to the north side of the older Romanesque church. The cathedral is located in the heart of the city, on the Place d'Armes, where it is the main object of the historical central part of the city.
