Webcam Aktau - Sandy beaches, city park

About the webcam "Sandy Beaches, City Park" in Aktau
Aktau is a city in Kazakhstan, located on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. Its current name means "white mountain" in Kazakh, which may be related to its cliffs that face the Caspian Sea. From 1964 to 1991, the city was known as Shevchenko. Its former name was given because of the emigration period of the poet of the same name in the area. It is located on the Mangyshlak Peninsula and is the capital of the Mangistau region. Aktau is known for its unique address system. Almost all streets within the city have no names, and addresses in Aktau usually consist of three numbers: district number, building number and apartment number. This is due to the fact that Aktau was originally planned to be a camp for oil industry workers. The territory of what is now Aktau was once inhabited by ancient Scythian tribes. Archaeological finds in the area include old settlements and utensils. The northern silk road passed through the current territory of Mangistau, which led to the establishment of several Sufi shrines in the vicinity of Aktau. Before Soviet times, however, there was very little population in the area and no city of any significance, almost certainly due to a lack of fresh water. You can see the Drama Theater firsthand via webcam. The video comes in real time and is available online to every user.
