Rimini is a city in northeastern Italy in the Emilia-Romagna region, located on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is one of Italy's largest resorts, known for its riviera and as the birthplace of the genius filmmaker Federico Fellini.

Cattolica beach is separated from another famous beach, Misano Adriatico, to the north by the harbor of Portoverde. South of Cattolica, beyond the river Tavollo and the port of Darsena, is the small resort of Gabbice Mare.
