Aberdeen is a city located in the north-east of Scotland. Aberdeen has many names besides its official name, such as Granite City, Grey City, Silver City with golden Sands. The fact is that in the XVIII-XX centuries, houses were partially built of gray granite, extracted from local quarries, and mica particles in the granite sparkled like silver. The city has a fairly long sandy coastline. But since the discovery of oil in the North Sea in 1970, the city has been called the oil capital of Europe (or the energy capital of Europe).
