Novi Grad is a city in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the administrative center of the municipality of the same name. It is part of the Prijedor region of Republika Srpska. The city is located on the Una River, on the border with Croatia, opposite the Croatian town of Dvor. The town has a post office, hospital, primary and secondary schools, stores, cultural centers, etc.

The municipality of Novi Grad is located in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina between the rivers Sana and Una. It covers an area of 470 km². The climate is temperate continental.

The city of Novi Grad was first mentioned in 1280 under the Roman name Castrum Novum, which means "new town". In 1895, the Austro-Hungarian rulers renamed the city Bosanski Novi.

In 1872, the municipality of Bosanski Novi became the first in the Bosnian Krajina to have a railway station. The first local hospital was built around the same time.
